Okay, my friend just linked me to this, and excuse me? Are you seriously blaming women for the behaviour of men? Do you also believe that if women wore more modest clothing, rape might also be prevented? Also, why do women have to sit down and behave themselves to get respect from men? Because that’s worked so well in history? Women only began to get rights and respect when they started asserting themselves, just like any other minority or underrepresented group on the planet, and we’re still oppressed because of sexist ideals like this that have been imposed upon us for centuries. Why is it that women are expected to conform to secure the good behaviour of men? Shouldn’t we just expect men to treat us right because we’re equal human beings worthy of polite treatment? I would personally never date a man or woman who expected me to censor myself and conform to an outdated feminine ideal based on the oppressive idea that women should be seen and not heard in order to be treated well. It’s fine if you take pride in being “ladylike” and seek someone who acts “gentlemanly.” That’s your choice, no concern of mine. I have my own standard of behaviour that I adhere to as well. But when you start judging other women for the way that they act and suggesting that they don’t deserve polite treatment from men because you find their actions vulgar or uncouth, blaming female actions for male behaviour, you need to sit back down and reconsider how your views continue the oppression of your own gender. Just as women choose their own actions, so do men, and your perceived failure on womens’ behalf to conform you your ideals does NOT make for a cause for your perceived failure on mens’ behalf to be gentlemen.

Ten minutes of searching on Google. Goodness knows how many others there are out there, including the ones that didn’t make it to court because the woman in question felt ashamed of herself, felt that she had done to cause this horrible thing to happen.
When you start saying “if people do ___, other people will do ___.” You are setting yourself up for thought processes like that; you can influence other people for their behavior, but at the end of the day, you are responsible for your actions. Whether I behave a certain way is not on anyone else but me. The same applies to everyone else.
